October 2, 2017 (La Mesa) — Last night, La Mesa Police detectives arrested La Mesa resident Christopher Artale, 40, for attempted murder of Alfonso Prado, 35, of National City.  Artale shot Prado in the head following an altercation Sunday afternoon in front of Artale’s home.

Police responded to several 9-1-1 calls October 1st around 4:47 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 4400 block of Glen Street near Mariposa in La Mesa.   LMPD officers found Prado lying in the street with the gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to a hospital.

Prado is in serious condition at a local hospital. Detectives are still currently investigating this incident.  If you have any information on this incident or witnessed the shooting, please contact the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-1400.
