LA MESA SUBWAY SHOP ROBBED AT GUNPOINT

August 10, 2010 (La Mesa) -- Two men robbed the Subway Sandwich Shop at 7404 University Avenue in La Mesa at 9:15 last night. The suspects pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding money from the register. After the clerk handed them money, they fled westbound on University Avenue on foot. No one was injured and the suspects remain at large.

 

According to La Mesa Police, the first suspect was described as a black male adult in his 30’s, approximately 5’10” tall, with facial hair and short unkempt hair. He was wearing a dark colored jacket over a white t-shirt and dark colored pants, while holding the gun in his right hand. Suspect number two was also described as a black male wearing a black beanie cap, a dark blue t-shirt and dark pants.

 

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is urged to call the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-1400.
