LEARN HOW TO SELL AT A CERTIFIED FARMERS' MARKET

March 1, 2009 (Escondido)--The San Diego County Farm Bureau is hosting a free class to teach any interested grower how to sell produce and nursery crops at a certified farmers' market. The class will be on Thursday, March 12 and will go from 3:00 to 5:00. Attendees will get comprehensive information on the rules and history of California certified farmers' markets from San Diego County Farm Bureau staff. Also, an inspector from the County Dept. of Agriculture, Weights and Measures office will give a presentation on inspection and certification procedures.

There are 35 Certified Farmers' Markets in San Diego County, many of which are in need of additional farm products. Attendees will learn how to sell directly to the public and make extra income at a weekly market. Admission is free to the first 45 people to register.
