November 9, 2014 (Lemon Grove) -- The Lemon Grove Historical Society announces a wealth of events including a film night, musical concerts, holiday open houses, civic bonfire, holiday craft fair and Christmas caroling.  Below is a complete calendar of these upcoming events. 

 

 

 

Nov. 12, 2014        Film Night in the Library:  "Balboa Park: The Magic City"

                             6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Rare screening of the Emmy awarded PBS

                             special.

 

Nov. 19, 2014        Music in the Lemon Grove Library. Vocalist Suzanne Harper,

                             2013 Female Entertainer of the Year.  6:30 p.m.

 

Nov. 22, 2014        Lemon Grove -- Live!  The Phoenix Band on the Main Street

                             Promenade by the Trolley Depot plays Country & Western, Rock, Big Band.  Four talented vocalist--instrumentalists. 

                             5 - 7 p.m.

 

Dec. 5, 2014          Annual Christmas Open House at the Parsonage and Lee House, and City's 17th "Light Up the Grove" Bonfire, Civic                             Center Park. 5 - 9 p.m. 

                            Santa Claus comes to the Lee House, music, Elves Gift Shoppe, horse-drawn wagon rides, games, jumps, face painting, arts                                 and crafts -- fun for all ages.

 

Dec. 7, 2014          Christmas Open House at the historic Rosemary & Dwight Putnam House, 3055 Crane Street, LG. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.                                Tour this Tudor Revival charmer and gardens. RSVP 619-460-4353

 

Dec. 13, 2014        Holiday Craft Fair by Soroptimist of Lemon Grove. 10 a.m. to

                             3 p.m.  Lemon Grove Academy Auditorium on School Lane.

 

Dec. 13, 2014        Christmas Carol Choir from St. John of the Cross on Main Street Promenade, 5 - 6 p.m. 

                             25 glorious voices hail the season!  Come and hear this accomplished ensemble and sing along.
