LEMON GROVE KICKS OFF SUMMER ACTIVITIES WITH A COMMUNITY BBQ: CITY ALSO OFFERS FREE LUNCHES FOR KIDS AND TEENS ALL SUMMER LONG

June 10, 2018 (Lemon Grove) – Lemon Grove residents are invited to the 2018 Lemon Grove Summer Kick Off Event and Community BBQ on Monday, June 11 from 3-5 p.m. at Lemon Grove Recreation Center (3131 School Lane.).

Kick off your summer in style with friends and family and enjoy live music from DJ BodyRawk, participate in activities at the Recreation Center, win prizes and learn about fun summer programs and events for kids in Lemon Grove. A free BBQ meal will be provided to every guest.

You can share your event memories on social media by using #GroveSummer18 for a chance to be featured on the City’s social media platforms. 

The City extends special thanks to program partner Grossmont Unified High School District for their support with this event and providing summer meals.

After receiving the Cities Combating Hunger through Afterschool and Summer Meal Programs (CHAMPS) Grant Award, Lemon Grove is working to promote the development and implementation of Afterschool and Summer Meal Programs in the City. The CHAMPS Grant Award is made possible through the generous support of the National League of Cities (NLC), The Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) and the Walmart Foundation.

Commit now to having a fit and fun summer by enjoying healthy, free lunches at a variety of Lemon Grove locations (flyer below). Free summer lunches for kids and teens will be available all summer long at the following community locations
