The Chula Vista Park View All Stars became the first Little League World Series champions from San Diego County in 48 years, defeating Taoyuan, Taiwan, 6-3, in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania on August 30th.

The last local team to win it all was the La Mesa-El Cajon Northern All-Stars in 1961.

The annual El Cajon parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on East Main Street at Magnolia Avenue, traveling eastbound on Magnolia Avenue to Second Street.

The Mother Goose Parade is the largest parade in San Diego County and the largest of its type west of the Mississippi. Each year, the parade attracts thousands of spectators to the streets of El Cajon, to view the parade for free on the "Sunday before Thanksgiving.”
