MAN AND WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER SHOTS FIRED AT MOTEL IN DEL CERRO

Update: The male suspect and a woman have been taken into custody early this afternoon.  No injuries were reported.

January 9, 2012 (Del Cerro) – Shots have been fired at law enforcement officers by a suspect who has barricaded himself inside a Days Inn Motel at 5343 Adobe Falls Road near Waring Road in Del Cerro, visible from I-8 in the east end of Mission Valley, ECM has learned.

Detective Gary Hassen with San Diego Police Department confirmed the suspect is a “parolee at large.” Authorities at the scene have requested a response by a special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team, ECM news partner 10 News reports.

The U.S. Marshal’s office is leading the investigation, San Diego Sheriff Lt. Gilmore indicated. Marshals are on the scene along with SDPD.  View map of location.
