July 29, 2017 (Spring Valley) – A resident of Sangamon Avenue on Dictionary Hill in Spring Valley says a backyard security camera at his home captured an image of a large cat that he believes to be a mountain lion.

The image, originally posted on the Next Door forum by the resident, was forwarded by former Spring Valley Community Planning Group member Bob Eble to other area residents.  Eble, who lives on the same street, states, “I live on Sangemon Ave. and have seen a lot of different critters over the years, however this is the first big cat.”

This photo was posted on July 25th.

Mountain Lion

That is great, we live in their territory. A coyote ran down my street in Lemon Grove, when I told my son he said "Yeah, right" . I saw it again the next morning and took a picture.

Coyotes around here are around nightly;

we hear them howling all the time on Mt. Helix.  I've had one peer in my front window, and we've also had one dig up gophers in our orchard.  They're excellent at predator patrol!
