May 24, 2011 (Lake Murray) – Organizers of the annual Music Fest and Fireworks show at Lake Murray seek donations—large and small--to fund this year’s event on the 4th of July.

“We understand times are tight right now, so here's the deal,” a press release issued by Navajo Events, the organizer of the Music Fest, states. “If you and each of your neighbors were able to scrounge up just 20 bucks to donate we would be in great shape."

He urges supporters to "go out in your car, look under your seat, in your ashtray and collect up all that loose change that you didn't think you had anyways. Oh and don't forget your sofa in the living room. You do that and what we promise in return is to light up the skies over Lake Murray in celebration of our nation's independence.”

Organizers assure that they have some great bands lined up and ready to entertain all day long. In addition to individual donations, they also seek larger sponsors of $1,000 and up with special advertising in the event program.
