$11.5 million PE and Food Services project will begin construction in late spring

February 9, 2018 (El Cajon) - The Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD) and Erickson-Hall Construction are hosting a Contractor Outreach Event, designed to bring the District’s construction management team together with local general contractors, subcontractors and small and/or historically underutilized businesses looking for opportunities on the upcoming construction of the new PE and Food Services Buildings at Granite Hills High School.

Designed by Ruhnau Clarke Architects, the $11.5 million project is scheduled to start construction in late spring.  It will consist of two single-story wood-framed buildings, comprising more than 21,000 square feet of space, and associated site work. The project will include new locker rooms, team rooms, wrestling rooms, a dance studio, and a new state-of-the-art kitchen. The project will also include complete renovations to the heating and ventilation system in the adjacent gymnasium.

The project team will discuss the new project, project schedule, pre-qualification process, bonding, insurance, and other forthcoming projects.

There will be approximately 15-17 bid packages associated with the project, expected to be advertised in early March.
