February 8, 2009 (La Mesa) — It's
easy to create festive floral arrangements to suit any occasion--all on a minimal
  budget.
Start with a simple container such as a drinking glass, vase, pottery jar
or even a metal can. You can pick up these items at discount stores or yard
sales, or simply use an item from your kitchen cupboard.
Wrap fabric around the container and secure it with a rubber band just below
Wrap fabric around the container and secure it with a rubber band just below
the rim. Use holiday fabric to customize your creation for Valentine's
Day, St. Patrick's Day, Fourth of July, or any other special time of year.

trim fabric around the top, leaving enough to tuck down into the rim of your
container. Secure fabric to the inner and outer rims using a hot
glue gun. Tie a ribbon around your creation and if desired, add
extra decorations such as glitter paint, seashells or glass beads. Add
artificial flowers to suit the occasion.
These
projects cost little and can be completed in just a few minutes, adding
festive touches to your holiday decor.
