January 27, 2013 (Pine Valley)--Beginning Friday, February 1, the Pine Valley Sheriff's Substation can be found at a new location as construction on a new substation gets underway. The temporary address of the substation is 28914 Old Highway 80 Suite 106, Pine Valley, CA 91962 with the same telephone number at (619) 473‐8774.

During the move from our present location, the current Pine Valley Substation will be closed from Monday, January 28 to Friday, February 1 at 8:00 a.m. During this period the phones will be forwarded to the Communications Center and all citizens arriving at the substation will be directed to other nearby Sheriff's Facilities. A sign will be posted at the door regarding the move.

The Pine Valley Substation serves an area of more than 400 square miles which includes the communities of Pine Valley, Guatay, Descanso, Mount Laguna, Boulevard and Jacumba. The substation has been at its location since the early 1970s and is attached to the Pine Valley Fire Department.

The new substation will more than triple the size of the current building and will accommodate Sheriff's Deputies, Senior Volunteer Patrol (SVP) members and include meeting spaces that can be shared with other law enforcement agencies. It will be located west of the current location on Old Highway 80 at Corte Madera. The $3.3 million dollar project is expected to be completed in spring 2014.

A design concept of the future substation is still being finalized. For JPG files of the photos and updates, follow us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/sdsheriff.
