March 26, 2010 (Escondido) – Private funeral services were held today for Amber Dubois. Tomorrow at 1 p.m. a public memorial service is planned at Escondido High School, where family and friends aim to celebrate her life and say their bittersweet goodbyes.

Mark Klaas will speak at the ceremony, the North County Times reports. Klaas, national spokesperson for missing children cases since the murder of his own daughter, Polly, helped in the search for Dubois.

Families of Danielle Van Dam and Chelsea King, two other San Diego girls who died at the hands of child predators, will also be present. Four doves will be released in honor of the memories of the four slain girls.
Amber Dubois loved wildlife, so the service will include wildlife provided by a local company, including a wolf—Amber’s favorite animal.

The public is welcome to attend the ceremony.
