November 5, 2011 (Santee) -- The Friends of Santee’s River Park and the San Diego River Park Foundation are seeking volunteers to donate a few hours of their time to help the Community of Santee and the San Diego River be clean and healthy. River Scouting teams have identified several trash and former camp sites that need to be removed before the winter rain washes it into the river.

To help with cleanup, meet at Santee Town Center Park on November 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The group will provide all tools and supplies. Community service hours can be verified for those that need them. Be sure to dress in sturdy clothes. Closed shoes are required. Volunteers will meet at Town Center Park in Santee at Cuyamaca St. and River Park Drive.
