December 14, 2014 (Santee)--A call went out to  the Santee Sheriff's Patrol Station at 3:54 p.m. on December 13, according to Deputy W. Price, regarding a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Carlton Oaks Boulevard and Willow Grove Avenue in Santee.  Deputy Price said all the passengers in the blue Xterra vehicle  were transported to the hospital and that included a 6-year-old minor.

Christmas shoppers at the nearby store, GTM Discount, and surrounding businesses were forced to take detours or  were detained in traffic. An ambulance, fire trucks, and numerous Sheriff's vehicles were on the scene with two tow trucks.

The accident was still being cleaned up after  5:00 p.m. with the contracted tow truck driver sweeping up debris from the Xterra, a windshield, and glass from both vehicles. Bystanders were puzzled how a car could flip over in a non-highway accident with low speeds. Witnesses were on hand for statements to provide the deputies.

Most bystanders also  seemed saddened to see that a young minor was involved and that it was relatively close to Christmas when it happened, knowing it impacted all passengers in both vehicles.  No fatalities were involved.
