May 5, 2010 (Lakeside) - Hundreds of runners and walkers will gather this Saturday in Lakeside to celebrate the 3rd Annual Run for the San Diego River 5K Trail Run and Walk. The event starts at 8 a.m. with registration at 6:30 a.m and celebrates local efforts to preserve and restore the biological integrity and beauty of the San Diego River in Lakeside.

The 5K course is all off-road, has gentle rolling hills, beautiful views of El Capitan and winds along the San Diego River. Dogs on leashes are welcome and the event is family friendly. The entry fee is $30 for Adults and $15 for Kids 12 & Under with all proceeds supporting Lakeside’s River Park Conservancy.
The event starts and ends near the corner of Mapleview Ave and Channel Rd in Lakeside. Register online at www.lakesideriverpark.org or in-person on event morning.
