SAN DIEGO BLACK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OFFERS BUSINESS GRANT FUNDING, TECH HELP FOR DISTRICT 4 FLOODING EMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF

January 25, 2024 (San Diego) -- The County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce (CSDBCC) will be providing grant funding and technical assistance to businesses affected by the recent flooding emergency in San Diego City's District 4.  Council District 4 includes the communities of Alta Vista, Broadway Heights, Chollas View, Emerald Hills, Encanto, Greater Skyline Hills, Jamacha, Lincoln Park, Lomita Village, Mountain View, North Bay Terrace, Oak Park, O'Farrell, Paradise Hills, Ridgeview, South Bay Terrace, Valencia Park, and Webster.

As the new administrators of the Diamond BID (Business Improvement District), CSDBCC has been reaching out to local businesses in District 4, which was the hardest hit by the flooding disaster that caused widespread damage and disruption to residents and businesses alike.

In recognition of the challenges faced by the business community, the CSDBCC has allocated grant funding to support affected businesses in their recovery efforts. The grant funding will be available to local businesses to help cover the costs of repairs, equipment replacement and other flood-related expenses.

Along with the grant funding, the CSDBCC is also offering technical assistance to help businesses navigate the recovery process. This assistance will include guidance on accessing other available resources and tools.

CSDBCC encourages local businesses in District 4 that have been affected by the flooding to apply for the grant funding and technical assistance through this Google Form. Additional information on the application process and eligibility criteria can be found on the CSDBCC website at https://sdblackchamber.org/.

“We understand the devastating impact that the recent flooding has had on businesses in District 4, and we are committed to providing immediate support to help them recover and rebuild," said Donna DeBerry, President and CEO of the CSDBCC. “Based on the numerous requests from our local businesses in need in Southeast San Diego, we know that there is a desperate need for financial help.”

"Through our grant funding and technical assistance, we aim to assist local businesses in overcoming the challenges posed by this disaster and to ensure the long-term resilience of the local economy,” DeBerry said.

The CSDBCC remains dedicated to supporting the local business community in District 4 as it recovers from the recent flooding. The Chamber stands in solidarity with the affected businesses and is committed to providing the necessary resources and assistance to facilitate their recovery efforts.
