SAN DIEGO ENERGY DISTRICT LAUNCHES MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

April 7, 2015 (San Diego) – The San Diego Energy District seeks to provide community choice by allowing consumers to purchase clean, green energy from a source other than SDG&E.

The organization has now launched a membership drive to create a community-owned power entity as an alternative to monopoly control with a goal of providing lower prices on renewable from locally produced clean energy such as rooftop solar. Businesses and individuals can join at http://www.sandiegoenergydistrict.org/membership.html .

Thus far, 90 members have reportedly signed up, SDED reports. In addition, the city of Solana Beach has become the first city in our region to adopt a resolution supporting a community choice energy district. (For details, click here.
