The team left San Diego early this morning in order to arrive at their staging location by 6:30 a.m. Their primary mission was to assist Pasadena Humane Society in ensuring the safety and well-being of both horses and riders participating in the 2024 Rose Parade.
During their day, the Emergency Response Team played a crucial role in various incidents, including helping transport three American Saddlebred horses who were from Scripps Miramar Ranch back to basecamp. A horse named Zoom had gotten stressed, prompting three horses and their riders to leave the parade to be safe.
Additionally, the team assisted Banks, a horse associated with the Cowboy Channel float, who became overstimulated and required removal from the parade for the safety of all involved.
A rider with the Painted Ladies group needed assistance, and two horses named Smokey and Checkers with the same company were also transported by San Diego Humane Society's volunteer team to the staging area.
