Pep rally march, war memorial ceremony and homecoming carnival among events

November 11, 2015 (San Diego)--San Diego State University will host several events this week, leading up to its nationally televised homecoming football game against the Wyoming Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Qualcomm Stadium.

 

Aztecs of all ages are invited back to campus to share in SDSU's Aztec pride with weeklong Homecoming 2015 events and are invited to follow the hashtag #SDSUHomecoming2015 on Twitter and Instagram.

Thursday, November 12

March to the Arch

12 p.m., Hepner Hall to Aztec Student Union

Join the Marching Aztecs, SDSU Dance Team and Cheer Squad, and the Aztec Warrior in the Aztecs’ newest game week tradition — the March to the Arch. Starting at Hepner Hall at noon, the Aztecs make the march to the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

 

Ultimate Aztec Challenge

1 p.m., ENS 700

Student teams in SDSU Gear will compete to prove their Aztec strength by participating in a challenging relay race, featuring an inflatable obstacle course and more.

 

Friday, November 13

War Memorial Ceremony

9 a.m., War Memorial Monument

The memories of SDSU’s fallen Aztecs will be honored at the 19th Annual War Memorial wreath-laying ceremony on the Aztec Green. Tribute will be paid to those who made the ultimate sacrifice during our nation’s military conflicts. Two names will be added to the memorial.

 

Men’s Basketball vs. Illinois State

7 p.m., Viejas Arena

Basketball season officially begins with this Homecoming Friday night matchup versus Illinois State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Viejas Arena.

 

Saturday, November 14

Second Annual Homecoming 5K

9 a.m., Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union, Lee & Goldberg Courtyard

Aztecs of all ages will kick off Homecoming game day with a morning run through SDSU campus beside students, alumni, staff, faculty and friends.

 

Homecoming Football Game

7:30 p.m., Qualcomm Stadium

The week culminates with the Homecoming Football game vs. the Wyoming Cowboys; kick-off is set at 7:30 p.m.

Aztec Village and the pregame carnival open at 5 p.m. in Parking Section C1/D1 at Qualcomm Stadium.

Aztecs are also invited to help welcome the team to the stadium for the traditional Warrior Walk at 5:30 p.m. between parking section E and F as the echo from Aztec drums signal the team’s arrival.
