November 19, 2023 (San Jose) -  Jaylon Armstead ran for 134 yards to lead the offense but the Aztecs dropped their final road game of the season, 24-13, at San Jose Sate on Saturday night.

San Diego State (3-8, 1-6 Mountain West) put points on the board first on a one-yard touchdown run from Armstead in with five minutes left in the first quarter. Gabriel Plascencia added a 46-yard field goal with three minutes left in the second quarter, but San Jose State (6-5, 5-2) matched the Aztecs point for point to even things up at 10-10 heading into halftime.

SJSU's Chevan Cordeiro threw a deep pass to Isaac Jernagin for a 42-yard gain that set up a 20-yard touchdown run by Conley that gave San Jose State a 17-10 lead with 6:16 left in the third quarter. Kairee Robinson capped a six-play, 94-yard drive —- including back-to-back runs or 21 and 57 yards by Conley — with a 5-yard run that made it 24-13 with 5 minutes to play in the game.

Armstead's 134 yards rushing is the most by an Aztec this season, and his first career 100-yard game. He also scored his seventh touchdown of the season.

Cordeiro was 15-of-20 passing for 174 yards with a touchdown and an interception for San Jose State whileQuali Conley ran for 155 yards on 13 carries with a tochdown.

The Aztecs will close out their season next week at home against Fresno State.
