Eight Aztecs set new PRs

January 28, 2023 (Seattle) - The Aztec track and field team competed for the second and final day on Saturday at the UW Invitational, the first meet of their 2023 indoor season.

Newcomer Hannah Waller made a statement, placing first in 60m prelims and finals with times of 7.41 and 7.36 and second in long jump with a jump of 19-04.25 (5.90m). All three performances set new personal bests for Waller.

 

Jada Moore placed second in the 60m finals and set a new personal record with a time of 7.42.

 

Shaquena Foote led the 400m race with a time of 53.78, placing first and setting a new personal record while Rhea Hoyte finished in second with a new personal best time of 55.78.

 

Ashley Callahan and Corey Freidenbach, Aztec Pole Vaulters, placed 12th and 15th respectively with jumps of 12-05.50 (3.80m) and 11-11.75 (3.65m).

 

Felicia Crenshaw set a new personal best with a shot put throw of 47-10.50 (14.59m), earning her a third-place finish.

 

The team of Rhea Hoyte, Hannah Waller, Aisha Watt, and Charlize James took first in the 4x400 with a time of 3:44.84.
