June 11, 2021 (Eugene, Ore.) - The Aztec 4x100 meter relay team competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at the University of Oregon Thursday afternoon. SDSU was disqualified for having an “exchange outside of zone three.”

The Aztecs were one of three schools that were either disqualified or did not finish (Arkansas and Clemson).

The team of Tai McDonald, Danae Dyer, Aisha Watt and Jada Moore finished in 45.40 seconds, but it was later determined that their last handoff was late. The team, which is composed entirely of underclassmen, won the gold medal at the Mountain West Championships.

This officially brings the Aztecs’, who won the 2021 Mountain West Outdoor Championship, season to an end.

SDSU was the only non-power five program to send a 4x100m relay team to four of the last five NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The Aztecs have had a representative at 23 of the last 24 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
