December 12, 2011 (El Cajon) --  Senator Joel Anderson (R-Alpine) will present the Senate District 36 “Business of the Year” award tomorrow to Bob Taylor (photo, left), founder of Taylor Guitars.  The award will be made on the bustling factory floor  in El Cajon where the company’s world famous musical instruments are made.

“Taylor Guitars is an example of the American dream come true,” Senator Anderson says.

He added, “In 1974, Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug started the company in a building with a leaky roof and sawdust on the floor to sop-up the puddles. Almost 40 years later, Taylor Guitars operates out of a 25,000 square foot El Cajon facility, employs hundreds of my constituents, and makes a world-class guitar. They’ve also given back to their community through their support of the local high school wood shop programs that are building the critical career development skills of our youth. It’s an honor to make Taylor Guitars my 2011 Business of the Year.”
