August 23, 2016 (El Cajon) - Robert Becker is a registered sex offender under arrest on charges of taking cell phone video of a girl in a restroom at Wal-Mart in El Cajon. The investigation is ongoing and Becker is suspected of committing similar crimes in the East County and potential victims are being urged to come forward.
On Wednesday, August 17th, Deputies from the Lakeside Sheriff's Substation were called to the Wal-Mart located at 13487 Camino Canada in unincorporated El Cajon.
A 10-year-old girl told deputies a man followed her inside the women's restroom. She says the man got into a stall next to her and used a cell phone camera to record her while making lewd comments. The suspect took off before deputies arrived.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Family Protection Detail arrested Becker on Monday, August 22nd at his home in the 4000 block of Alpine Boulevard in Alpine. Becker was identified through the store's surveillance video.
Becker is facing charges of attempted lewd and lascivious acts on a minor, annoying or molesting a child with a prior conviction and disorderly lewd conduct. More charges may be pending.
