SPRING VALLEY SEX OFFENDER SUSPECT DIES IN CUSTODY

May 19, 2023 (Spring Valley) – Maximillian Aguirre, 71, of Spring Valley has died in a hospital while in custody.

He was arrested Dec. 16, 2021 by the Fugitive Task Force and booked on four counts of oral copulation with a victim under age 10, as well as 11 counts of lewd or lascivious conduct with a child under 14 with force.

Aguirre had been hospitalized since March 29 and passed away on May 16 at Tri-City Hospital.

According to the Sheriff’s department, he had extensive medical issues unrelated to his incarceraton. The Citizen's Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) was notified of this incident.

As is the protocol for all in-custody deaths, the Sheriff's Homicide Unit will conduct a thorough investigation. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.
