July 19, 2019 (La Mesa) – A man suspected of strangling his former girlfriend was arrested at 8:20 this morning in the parking garage next to Target in the Grossmont Center regional shopping mall.  The woman called police last night to report the strangling that allegedly occurred at her home in San Carlos on Hyde Park Drive. She was treated at a hospital, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

This morning, the woman call 911 to report that her estranged boyfriend had returned and was trying to enter her home. When San Diego Police arrived, he fled in his former girlfriend’s vehicle, which had a tracking system.

Officers traced the vehicle and blocked off the area near the mall’s parking garage, where the man was seated in the vehicle.  He came out a short time later and was taken into custody.
