SUDANESE CENTER HOSTS FUNDRAISING EVENT SATURDAY

May 7, 2010 (San Diego) – San Diego’s Southern Sudanese Community Center invites the public to a benefit event on Saturday, May 8 at 4 p.m. Sample Sudanese foods, enjoy live music, and help support the center’s many programs to assist newly-arrived immigrants and refugees from the Sudan. 

 

The Center is located at 4077 Fairmount Avenue in San Diego. Tickets cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door.. Vendor booths are available for $50. Reserve space and pay online before 3 p.m. May 8 for early-bird rates:  http://www.meetup.com/SDCommunityCoalition/calendar/13176382/?a=_grp&rv=...

Funding will help support programs including a computer lab, youth programs, health fair, women’s programs, translation services, citizenship workshops, invisible children campaign, child nutrition/after school tutoring, Sudanese Cultural Day, gang prevention, Arabic language programs, soccer, and the Divine Roots dance troupe.
