SUSPECT ARRESTED IN MURDER OF EL CAJON SENIOR

October 21, 2015 (El Cajon) – El Cajon Police have arrested Michael Patrick McDonnell, 46.  He is charged with the murder of his roommate, Richard Winslow Hobbs, 72.

Officers responding to a 911 call found Hobbs suffering from severe head injuries caused by blunt force trauma from an assault at his home at 1037 Pine Drive on October 13th at 8:35 p.m.  He was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries a few hours later.

“The motivation for the crime is unclear at this time and there are no outstanding suspects,” said Lieutenant Frank La Haye. McDonnell has been booked into the County Jail.
