April 14, 2012 (San Diego) -- Detectives from the San Diego Police Department’s Mid-City Division are looking for two suspects who stole large appliances from a Redwood Village/Rolando Park home.

On April 12, 2012, at about 3:00 p.m., a resident confronted two men who were loading her clothes dryer into a pickup truck in the driveway of her home at 6800 Veronica Avenue. The suspects had already loaded a washing machine and refrigerator in the bed of the pickup. All three appliances had been stored in the victim’s yard, beside her garage.

When the victim questioned the suspect’s about the theft, they put the dryer back in its storage place, said Lt. Andra Brown with SDPD. “Rather than return the other two items, the suspects got into their truck and started to drive away. The victim attempted to stop them, but they drove at her, knocking her to the ground.”

The suspects are described as a black male and an Asian male. The black male was in his 30’s, 5’9” to 5’10”, weighing 160-180 pounds.  He was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.  He was also said to have crooked, yellow teeth. The Asian male was in 20’s, 5’6” to 5’7” weighing 140-150 pounds.  He was wearing a black jacket, gray shirt and dark pants.  He also has long straight hair worn in a ponytail.

The suspects were last seen in a late 90’s model white Toyota pickup truck with the victim’s refrigerator and washing machine in the bed.

Prior to the confrontation with the victim, the black male was captured on a neighbor’s surveillance camera. Copies of the video are available at the San Diego Police Department Headquarters Broadway customer service counter.

Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact the San Diego Police Department’s Mid-City Division at (619) 516-3000 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
