Holiday lights and more in La Mesa Walks! stroll on Dec. 17

Dec. 15, 2025 (La Mesa) – La Mesa residents and those who just like La Mesa will put on their walking shoes while soaking in some festive cheer this week as La Mesa Walks! hosts a special evening edition of the "Holiday Light Stroll" this Wednesday, Dec. 17.

La Mesa Walks!, the popular community program, will shift its focus to colorful, dazzling neighborhood light displays on Wednesday in the free, family-friendly outing.
 
The walk is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at La Mesita Park, at 8855 Dallas St., but those who are participants are being encouraged to arrive at 5 p.m. to sign in, enjoy complimentary cider and cookies, and mingle before the trek.

REINDEER VISITS GROSSMONT CENTER NEXT THREE SUNDAYS

December 1, 2017 (La Mesa)—Ho, ho, ho! As Santa’s Christmas Eve sleigh ride approaches, you can bring children to take photos and feed a live reindeer at Grossmont Center on Sunday afternoons from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on December 3, 10 and 17.

LA MESA SHIMMERS ON DEC. 9: CELEBRATING COMPLETION OF DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE

November 25, 2015 (La Mesa)—You’re invited to join the City of La Mesa in celebrating completion of the $5 million downtown streetscape renovation project on La Mesa Boulevard in La Mesa’s quaint village. Experience the newly brightened Downtown Village on December 9th from 4:00-6:00 pm.

La Mesa Shimmer will feature a lighting ceremony at 4:30 pm at Palm Ave. and La Mesa Blvd.  Refreshments will be provided during the event at Palm Ave. and La Mesa Blvd.  and near Date Ave. and La Mesa Blvd.  Live bands and students from Peter Pan Junior Theatre will perform along the Boulevard from 4:00-6:00 pm.
