TEENS ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY ON TROLLEY IN LA MESA

August 7, 2017 (La Mesa) – La Mesa Police have arrested two teenagers for armed robbery aboard a trolley on July 5th.

According to police, the victim, a juvenile male, was riding a trolley from San Diego. When it arrived at the Amaya Trolley Station in La Mesa, a group of young males approved the victim and one asked for the time.

When the victim took out his cell phone, the juvenile grabbed the phone and fled. When the victim stood up to protect himself, a second male stepped into his path, lifted his shirt to expose the handle of a gun, and threatened the victim. The thieves then exited the trolley car.

La Mesa Police detectives began an investigation and identified two suspects.  A 14-year-old was arrested July 14th and a 17-year-old was arrested on July 18th. They were booked into Juvenile Hall for robbery.
