March 24, 2013 (La Mesa) – San Pasqual Winery announces a creative series of upcoming events at its tasting room in La Mesa.  Each Saturday night, find live entertainment including flamenco fusion, classic guitar, hits from yesterday and today, plus original local music.  Other upcoming events include a painting class and a “big read” from a Ray Bradbury sci fi favorite read by La Mesa’s Vice Mayor and other local talents.

Live Music: The Push Pins - Sat., Mar. 30 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

The PushPins are a local favorite (remember them from Gio's?).  Playing a variety of music from yesterday and today, they are known for their vocal harmonies.  No cover charge.  Wine by the glass, cheese plates and dessert available for purchase. Seating is on a first come, first-served basis.

 

The Big Read - Tues., April 2 - 6:00 p.m. 

Join us for a dramatic reading of passages from Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, as well as selections of the author's short stories and poems.  Featuring La Mesa Vice Mayor, Mark Arapostathis & Write Out Loud Co-Founders, Walter Ritter & Veronica Murphy.  Since seating is limited, please RSVP by March 26 to: writeoutloud@gmail.com  

 

Live Music: David DeAlva, Flamenco Fusion Guitarist - Sat., Apr. 6 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Introducing David DeAlva, Flamenco Fusion guitarist. David has an extensive repertoire of music, such as Nouveau Flamenco, Classical, Bossa Nova and Smooth Jazz. Live Music: The Sock Monkeys - Sat., Apr. 13 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Last time they played, we had a full house: known for playing their own entertaining original music, they also mix in a variety of fun music from the past to the present. Come join us for a fun Saturday night, blending an evening full of wine, mingling, and music that will get you in a great spirit. No cover - we will be serving wine by the glass, cheese plates, and dessert. Seating is on a first come, first-served basis.

 

Live Music: Steve DeVries Guitarist - Sat., Apr. 20 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Texas born, fingerstyle guitarist, Steve DeVries, has developed his own warmly passionate style of playing--igniting elements of strong neoclassical techniques bred to unbridled thumbstyle flare. He displays a remarkable gift for improvisation , composing and melodic grace on the steel string guitar. A 3 time featured performer on NPR, with extensive touring/performing experience , Steve exhibits his relaxed stage presence and sense of humor, through his world class guitar playing.  No cover - we will be serving wine by the glass, cheese plates, and dessert. Seating is on a first come, first-served basis.

 

Paint & Palate - Wed, Apr. 24 - 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

A customer favorite - and remember, no art experience is necessary. Join together with others as you are guided step by step in painting a copy of a master. San Diego Wine Festival at the Del Mar Fair. Many people enjoyed this event so much last year, that they decided to plan ahead and make hotel reservations for this year, so we are giving you the date far enough in advance to do so.
