April 2, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – Looking for a fun and festive place to take the kids on an Easter Egg hunt this weekend? Here are our picks for some special places to let the kids run wild. Besides hunting for eggs, youngsters can also enjoy carnival rides, pony rides, rock climbing, games, crafts, and viewing exotic animals – to name just a few of the unusual activities you’ll find at East County Easter Egg hunts.

 

So grab your baskets, roundup the kids, then head out east for an enjoyable day of fun in the East County sun.

SPRING EXTRAVAGANZA AT SANTEE LAKES

Description: This free, family-friendly event features an egg hunt, carnival rides, pony rides, inflatable jumps, crafts, and much more.

 

Cost: Parking $5; activity and ride tickets 50 cents; cash only.

 

Volunteers for tree planting and river cleanup, please bring a signed waiver to the event (available at the link below).

KROC HOP BUNNY DROP

Cost: Free!

 

Description: On Saturday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Kroc Center will host its seventh annual free Easter Egg hunt and festival. Over 1,500 local children are expected to enjoy visits and photos with the Easter bunny, as well as pony rides, bounce houses, arts and crafts, a rock climbing wall, games and prizes.

 

 

Children 12 and under are invited to hunt for more than 5,000 eggs on the Kroc Center field.

 

LIONS, TIGERS & BEARS EASTER EGG HUNT
 

22402 Martin Way, Alpine
 

Date: Saturday, April 3, 2010
 

Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

 

Cost: For non-members, a donation of $5 for children ages two to 12 is requested; adults pay a $25 donation, and kids under two years old are free when accompanied by an adult.

 

Description: This event is free to members of Lions, Tigers & Bears. Kids will be able to participate in an Easter egg hunt and enjoy sights and sounds of big cats including lions, tigers, a mountain lion, bobcat, and more.
