THREE ROBBERIES FRIDAY IN LA MESA

February 28, 2010 (La Mesa) –A Circle K Store was robbed at gunpoint Friday at 11 p.m. Earlier on the same date, two young men robbed, punched and kicked a juvenile on Spring Street. In yet another incident, a youth was robbed of a cell phone by five men at Water Street and Amaya Drive in La Mesa.

 

At 3:25 p.m., La Mesa Police responded t the assault case. According to police, the juvenile male victim was walking when he was approached by two black male juvenile suspects, each estimated at 16-17 years old, who demanded his wallet. One suspect said he had a gun, though it was not seen. The victim told police he was punched in the face, knocked to the ground, and kicked before his wallet was stolen, though he had no visible injuries. One suspect wore a black or gray sweatshirt. The other had a black hat and black or gray sweatshirt with tan short pants and tattoos on his left arm or wrist. The suspects fled south on Amaya Drive towards the trolley station.
 

At 10:32 p.m., a robbery was reported on Spring Street. The juvenile victim was walking through the Denny’s parking lot on Spring Street when he was reportedly confronted by five black males ranging in age from 15 to 20, each around 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 11 inches, police said. They asked him to stop, but he ran away. The suspects stopped him in the parking lot at 4242 Spring Street and took his cell phone, then fled to a black four-door sedan which took off northbound on Spring Street. One suspect was thin and wore a purple and black bandana and a purple and black long-sleeved shirt with black jeans. Another was thin with a tan shirt. The third had on a white tank top.
 

The Circle K Store at 8899 La Mesa Boulevard was robbed at about 11 p.m. by a black male suspect who pointed a revolver at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk put cash from the register into a light blue pillow case that the suspect provided. The suspect also demanded that the clerk open a safe, which he could not do. The suspect fled westbound on foot toward Dailey Court. The suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20s, approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, 150 pounds with a thin build. He wore a dark jacket, dark jeans, white T-shirt and white shoes.
