January 4, 2013 (La Mesa)--Madeleine Falco is taking date night to a higher standard by going on a date to the swearing in ceremony of President Barack Obama on January 21, 2013 in Washington, D.C.

So how did this all happen?  U.S. House of Representative’s Congresswoman Susan Davis, representing the 53rd district, offered a lottery for tickets to the inauguration ceremony shortly after the presidential election.  Her constituents had to enter their name in the lottery to be selected. Falco and a male friend, entered their names.

A pact (some might say collusion) was made between Falco and her friend that if she was selected, he would be her date--and if he got tickets—she was his date. It proved to be a very fruitful pact.

At a reception at Cosmos Coffee Shop in La Mesa, Falco and others were warmly greeted by Representative Davis on Saturday, December 15.  Others who had been selected to receive the coveted tickets had an opportunity to meet and greet each other as well.

Besides what to wear, where to stay, and other mechanics of the trip, Falco and her date might start figuring out how to get into the inaugural balls (not included with the tickets). A magical date indeed!
