March 20, 2017 (San Diego’s East County) – Graffiti threatening President Donald Trump has been found along a wall facing Interstate 8 east between Los Coches Road and the Lake Jennings exit in unincorporated El Cajon, NBC 7 reports.

The spray-painted message states, “Murder Trump A.S.A.P.”

California Highway Patrol partially covered the graffiti on Sunday, with a Caltrans crew slated to finish the cleanup.

Whoever painted the message could be prosecuted for making a criminal threat in California if a court found it was meant to entice a hate crime or criminal act.  It is also a federal crime to make a threat against a president under the Presidential Threat Protection Act.

Although residents have voiced concerns over the disturbing graffiti message, the Sheriff’s Department told NBC 7 that as of Sunday afternoon, no one had filed a complaint.
