TWO CHP OFFICERS INJURED IN LAKESIDE COLLISION

September 16, 2016 (Lakeside) — A Hyundai Accent that was reportedly racing through a  Lakeside neighborhood ran a light at Julian Avenue and Los Coches Road at 1.a.m.,smashing into a California Highway Patrol car. The crash injured six people, including a CHP sergeant and an officer, said CHP spokesman Kevin Pearlstein.

The two officers were hospitalized with minor injuries. The four occupants of the Hyundai were also taken to a hospital with complaints of pain.

Drug paraphernalia and alcohol bottles were found in the vehicle.  The 19-year-old female driver, Cerys C. Mulvey, was arrested and she is expected face charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
