SDG&E now offers an “outage ap” for Smart Phone users

November 5, 2012 (Santee) – An “underground cable failure” caused a power outage November 1 that left 1,285 temporarily in the dark, SDG&E spokesperson Amber Albrecht has informed ECM.

The power went out at 7:59.  By 8:05, four minutes later, power was restored to all but 729 customers and by 10:55 p.m. power was restored to all but 206.  The remaining customers had power fully restored by 1:42 a.m. on November 2, Albrecht confirmed.

She advised those seeking information on power outages and estimated restoration times to visit www.sdge.com and click on the “outage” tab at the top to view a map. Or download the new SDG&E outages ap on your smart phone.
