UNIDENTIFIED MAN FOUND DEAD NEAR RAILROAD TRACKS IN LEMON GROVE

November 16, 2014 (Lemon Grove) – The Sheriff’s Homicide detail is investigating the death of an unidentified man found lying near the railroad tracks at 7:23 a.m. at the intersection of Lemon Grove Avenue and Palm Street.

The man has visible signs of traumatic injury, although it is now known if those injuries contributed to his death, said Lieutenant Kevin Nelson.

The victim is a white man who appeared to be in his 50s or 60s and may be a transient, UT San Diego reports.  The UT also reports that gunshots were heard in the area several hours earlier.  An autopsy is pending to determine cause of death.

Deputies and paramedics responded to a call this morning of a possibly dead man. Paramedics confirmed death at the scene.
