December 11, 2014 (San Diego’s East County) – La Mesa-Spring Valley School District is accepting applications now through January 12th to fill the vacancy left by former trustee Bill Baber. Baber won election to La Mesa’s City Council.

Applications should be turned into the district at 4750 Date Avenue in La Mesa by January 12th.   To qualify, applicants  must be at least 18 years old,  live within the boundaries of the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, be a U.S. citizen and a registered voter. Applications are available at 4750 Date Ave., as well as online at lmsvsd.org.

The board’s four remaining trustees will review applications on January 20th at 7 p.m. and narrow the selection to eight candidates or fewer.  Finalists will be interviewed at a special board meeting on January 27th at 4 p.m., when a selection will be made.

Board meetings are held at Warren T. Hogarth Education Service Center, 4750 Date Ave.

The district has 17 elementary and four middle schools serving over 12,000 students.
