August 23, 2023 -- Hurricane Hillary was downgraded to a tropical storm before hitting San Diego on Sunday. See what some residents experienced around the county from as far east as Sunshine Highway in Mount Laguna to as far north as La Jolla and as far south as Imperial Beach and several spots in between.

Several streets in the beach areas were experiencing mild flooding. A rock slide was also discovered in Mount Laguna shortly after entering Sunshine Highway from The 8 Freeway. There were kids playing in the rain and people out watching for winds that many people expected to be more of a show. Many businesses closed their doors Sunday in expectation of hurricane force winds. Areas west of Lakeside mostly experience a light rain all day and very light winds.
