October 24, 2013 (Alpine) -- Viejas Casino & Resort has launched its annual Holiday Toy Drive to support the local Salvation Army. With the help of Viejas Team Members and guests, the goal is to provide 10,000 toys to deserving families in San Diego and Imperial Counties. That’s up from a target of 5,000 toys last year.

“Every dollar that a parent does not have to spend on a toy for their children, is a dollar they can instead spend on food, clothing and essentials this holiday season,” said Viejas Casino & Resort General Manager Chris Kelley. “Each year, we see a larger need and we are grateful for the opportunity to give back to this community. I’m very confident we can raise 10,000 toys this year.”

Between November 15 and November 30, Viejas Casino guests who donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive $5 in Free Play Cash. And at Viejas Outlets, between November 4 and December 1, shoppers who donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive a $5 Viejas Outlets gift card, $3 off ice skating at Viejas Outlets and $2 off bowling at Viejas Bowl. Each donated toy must have a minimum value of $5.

The public gets a chance to join the excitement and find out exactly how many toys are raised, when the curtain is raised and the toys are revealed during the annual Stoney & Rob’s Holiday Party and Auction to be held at the DreamCatcher at Viejas on Wednesday, December 11.

To help support the cause, Viejas Casino Team Members are launching a simultaneous company-wide Holiday Toy Drive of their own, with each department competing to raise the most toys for the local Salvation Army.
