WEST HILLS HIGH STUDENT ARRESTED FOR THREAT

February 28, 2018 (Santee) – A student at West Hills High School has been arrested overnight for “making terrorists threats after he posted a photo of a Lego rifle on social media with a threatening message,” Grossmont Union High School District public information officer Catherine Martin stated on Twitter.

She adds, “We thank law enforcement for their quick action. @SDSheriff takes any threats to our schools very seriously.”

The Sheriff's department confirms that a 14-year-old 9th grader has been charged with a felony for making a criminal threat.  An investigation tracked the student to a home in  Lemon Grove, where a parent and step-parent were contacted.  It was determined that the student had access to hunting rifles.

The student had posted an image of an AR-15 assault rifle made of Legos with a message, "Don't come to school tomorrow."  No details have yet been provided on whether the Lego weapon was functional or not, however videos posted on social media appear to show demonstrations of some home-made Lego guns actually being fired.
