Nothing but the Truth! June 14, 2009 -- The implantation of tiny RFID (radio frequency identification devices) devices on practically anything has been promoted as “anti-shoplifting” and “inventory control”. But did you all new cars will soon be equipped with an RFID device so accurate that the government will be able to track you car everywhere you drive and at all hours?

What’s worse, these RFID devices will soon be used to make drivers pay tolls to drive on all freeways. As soon as you cross an electronic gate, you will be running up charges that will probably go on your credit card. And if Junior borrows the car to go joy-riding, no worries- you will still have to pay. RFID devices will simplify taxation of sales as well. Suppose the state wants to impose a value-added sales tax so people cannot resell personal property without paying a secondary sales tax on their used property. With RFID devices inside nearly every product, the sate could make you pay for selling your used computer or TV set. RFID tags inside clothing or shoes could make personal privacy a thing of the past. Step across an electronic threshold and go into a mall. You shoes have chips which identify you, or at least your shoes and the time they were shopping. RFID labels are now made of printable ink, which means they can be stuck on the labels of your clothes. Conceivably, people who buy used clothing at the Good Will could set off alarms by going into banks wearing mismatched RFID labels. RFID labels are already put into tires. Car parts are not far behind. Conceivably, the government could call up by computer an inventory of everything you own. And if your possessions do not match your tax return, look out! Finally, RFID devices make cash sales as easy to track as credit card sales. Does your money have RFID? You betcha, so when you buy some illegal substance don’t think paying cash is protection. The RFID Gestapo is watching you! They are so much more dangerous than Big Brother!
