October 16, 2017 (Ranchita) – Cal Fire has announced that no criminal charges will be filed against shooters who started the Wilson Fire which has scorched 25 acres in the Ranchita area between Warner Springs and the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

According to Cal-Fire, shooters who started the blaze on private property acted responsibly in promptly calling to report the blaze, which started Sunday. As of Monday, forward spread has been stopped and the brush fire is 70 percent contained.

A second fire over the weekend occurred near Green Valley Falls in the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, where one witnesses reporting seeing a couple light a flare to take photos in a dry meadow moments before the fire began. The Green fire burned about 8 to 10 acres before it was extinguished.
