January 20, 2012 (El Cajon ) – El Cajon Police have arrested June Carol Pickard, 57, and her son, Francis Richard Noble, 31. The two were arraigned Tuesday, accused of conspiring to hire a hitman to kill Noble’s wife.

Police learned of the plot after a former classmate of Noble came forward and revealed that Pickard had offered money for killing the 31-year-old victim.

“I am convinced were it not for the concerned citizen coming forward and talking with police, the victim would have eventually beenkilled,” Lt. Steve Shakowski said, 10 News reports. “Her days were definitely numbered.”

An undercover officer posed as a hitman and met with Pickard and Noble, accepting payment and confirming details of the crime.

“This was a shock to the victim,” Shakowski said, MSNBC reported. Police presented the victim with evidence of the plot against her, including surveillance videos of meetings in a parking lot at Parkway Plaza shopping center.

MSNBC reports that police have confirmed the suspects stood to gain money “in the low six figures” if the victim had been killed.

The suspects have pled not guilty to charges. Pickard is charged with attempted solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. Noble is charged with solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. Both are being held on one million dollars bail.

Noble reportedly met his wife at Viejas Casino, where he worked along with her mother. His Facebook page indicates he graduated from El Cajon Valley High School.

The victim has asked not to be identified, according to El Cajon Police.
