June 2, 2012 (San Carlos)—Regina Johnson, 55, has been arrested for the suspected killing of her husband and 14-year-old daughter.

“The preliminary investigation has revealed that the female called a relative in another state and commented that her husband and daughter were dead,” Lieutenant Kevin Rooney with the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit said. “The relative contacted their local law enforcement agency, who in turn contacted San Diego Police.”

UT San Diego reports that the victims are believed to have been killed Wednesday morning and that the suspect remained in the home with the bodies the entire time.

The residence is located at the Lomas del Cerro complex on Navajo Road.

The motive for the killings is unknown, however a relative told police that the suspect had been laid off from her job in the financial services industry.  A neighbor told ECM news partner 10 News that she had frequently heard yelling from the residence.

Names of the victims have not yet been released pending an examination by the Medical Examiner’s office.
