YUM-YUM ROBBERS MAKE OFF WITH THE DOUGH

June 19, 2014 (La Mesa) - Two suspects robbed the Yum Yum Donut shop in La Mesa at gunpoint tonight at 9:47 p.m.  They have not been found and La Mesa Police seek public help to locate them.

The two males entered the donut shop at 7550 El Cajon Boulevard in La Mesa. One suspect wearing a black ski mask brandished a black handgun and demanded cash from the clerk. 

Both suspects are described as African-Americans in their late teens or early 20s. The armed suspect was around 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt along with the ski mask. The other suspect wore a grey sweatshirt over a black hooded sweatshirt; he is about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build.

After the clerk gave them the cash,the suspects left the store on foot and were last seen running eastbound on foot toward Comanche Drive. Officers searched the surrounding areas with assistance from San Diego Police Department’s airship ABLE but were unable to locate the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the La Mesa Police Department.
