ACCIDENTS CLAIM FIVE LIVES

April 24, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – It was a deadly week on local roadways, where accidents have resulted in five deaths of people who resided or lost their lives in San Diego’s eastern regions.

Jennifer Foster, 38, of Pine Valley died April 16 in an accident on westbound I-8 near Tarvern Road, Alpine. She was the driver of an SUV that reportedly lost control and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jonathan Michael Ulmer, 21, of Alpine was a pedestrian killed on eastbound state route 94 near Proctor Valley Road in Jamul on April 18 in a hit-and-run accident. A 911 call was placed by a passerby, but medics were unable to save Ulmer, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Michelle Santos, 32, of Oceanside and a 65-year-old Fallbrook woman who has not yet been named pending notification of kin both died April 18 in an accident at Old Castle Road in Escondido. Santos was a passenger in a vehicle that crossed into the eastbound land and collied with an eastbound vehicle in which the older woman was a passenger.
Jose Gaspar Ajca, 48, of Fallbrook, a civilian employee at Marine Base Camp Pendleton, died April 18 of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident while on base.
An Escondido man, whose name has not yet been released pending notification of kin, was struck and killed April 18 while walking in Oceanside on northbound I-5 at Harbor Drive.
